Flamingo supports organisations to achieve their social change goals.

We are a small, independent consultancy, established in 2012.

Flamingo specialises in management and funding for civil society organisations.

Our offer includes training, coaching, support in funding strategies, research, as well as support in project design, proposal development, and bid writing.

Recent consultancy assignments  have included research into new funding models, conducting funding reviews,  managing a fellowship programme based on feminist principles, bid writing support, and coaching and mentoring.  Find out more below.

Flamingo’s clients are non-governmental/civil society organisations.   These range from large international NGOs to smaller and medium sized organisations working on specialist themes. We also work with individuals, networks and other types of organisations.

Flamingo stands for Funding, Learning and Management for international NGOs.  While our primary focus is Funding, we know that good management and brilliant learning systems are an integral part of this. We work with international NGOs focussed on global solidarity, and also on NGOs with a UK focus.  We also work with community based organisations, networks, and individuals.

Rachel Haynes is Flamingo's Director and Lead Consultant.  Having worked in the not-for-profit sector since 1988, always with a focus on global solidarity, Rachel brings experience, insight, and a real desire to listen and understand to her consultancy work.

What our clients say...

"The online training delivered was excellent... Rachel has a real understanding of the funding landscape and brought the topic to life with relatable case studies and collaborative exercises. Rachel is very thorough preparing a project, always listening to your requests and is keen to innovate. "
